Music

It's been so long since I've written in this blog that I almost forgot my password. I'm not sure if anyone ever reads this one anymore. Does anyone? I think some of you may read my other blog though.

Anyway, Snarky Kat's post about music reminded me that I wanted to write about some songs that I've heard lately that I thought others might like - some of which are listed below with more to come...

I put some of these on a "back to work" mix (btw, going to back to work sucks but at the same time relaxing)...

Makes Me Wonder by Maroon 5 - a catchy song

New Shoes by Paulo Nutini - another catchy song (he has a song on the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack too - that one is o.k. - I also got a song of his called "Last Request" which I like as well).

Ain't Nothing Wrong With That by Robert Randolph (from Grey's Anatomy soundtrack, vol. 3) - a fun song to listen to - just makes me want to get up and dance

Say It Right by Nelly Furtado - I just like it particularly the chorus

"Oh you don't mean nothing at all to me
No you don't mean nothing at all to me
But you got what it takes to set me free
Oh you could mean everything to me"

Young Folks by Peter Bjorn & John - a really catchy song - a can't get it out of your head song. I think this song was used on some ad campaign - possibly iPod? I found it on the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack mentioned above.

The Story by Brandi Carlile - I think I've mentioned this person before on this blog or the other one when talking about her song "Closer to You" that I think I got free off iTunes. I still haven't bought her CD though I think I'd really like it. This song is on the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack (there are quite a few good songs on this soundtrack that I like including the next two listed).

Keep Breathing by Ingrid Michaelson - this song was played at the very end of the last episode of their 3rd season - a good song to be played with what was going on in the show at the time.

Sun Comes Up by John Legend - also on the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack - at first, I thought it was Dave Matthews Band because the beginning of the song sounded like Dave Matthews. If John Legend's songs are like this one, I think I might like his songs.

When You're Gone & Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne - yep, I love some Avril Lavigne. The first song, a sweet song. The second song - just a fun song to sing along to.

The Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani - as far as I can tell, the only song off her new CD I actually like - though I haven't actually heard the whole thing yet.

Never Again by Kelly Clarkson - sounds like a Pat Benatar or Joan Jett or some other '80s female rock singer's song. I don't love this song, but it's a tiny bit catchy.

Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer - I just like this song.

Unchained Melody by Sarah McLachlan - a very mellow version of this song. I first heard it in connection with an infertility video and my sister found it for me.

You Know I'm No Good by Amy Winehouse - just a good song.

Potential Breakup Song by Aly & AJ - another catchy song.

More to come - my sister sent me some CDs with some new music on it that I just got in the mail yesterday
